United Way
WLI is has pledged support for site visits by United Way’s Math, Science and Technology Initiative. During these visits, WLI scientists with teaching backgrounds interact with underserved children to educate them about careers in science. Veterans Upward Bound Program
WLI pledges support for the Veterans Upward Bound Program at the University of Massachusetts Boston by donating time and hosting site visits for veterans returning home from war, so that they may explore careers in laboratory science. This program provides a unique opportunity for men and women veterans of all ages to gain access to information about college and career awareness, acquire the academic skills required for entry into higher education and/or to acquire the equivalent of a high school diploma. |

The Pan-Mass Challenge
The Pan-Mass Challenge is the nation’s original fundraising bike-a-thon, raising more money than any other athletic fundraising event in the country. In 2008, WLI sponsored four employee riders as they endured the 47-mile trek to benefit cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund.
