Wolfe Laboratories Inc. is seeking a Director of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for scientific and professional leadership in the company’s Pharmaceutical Chemistry service offerings.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providing direct input to corporate strategic planning, critical path issues/solutions, resource management, and project management
Planning, coordinating, managing, and developing a scientific staff
Interacting successfully with clients and prospective clients in pre-sales, post-sales, and ongoing project meetings
Providing client relationship management including proposal development, submittal, and follow-up
Coordinating and developing yearly departmental programs, strategic plans, and annual budgets
REQUIRED BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry or a related field
Ten (10) years of industry experience in pharmaceutical drug development or a related field
Three (3) years of experience as a manager at an associate director level or above
In depth expertise in analytical chemistry in the pharmaceutical or related industry
In depth expertise in the physicochemical properties of small molecules, and/or peptides and proteins as they relate to the pre-formulation and formulation development of new drugs
A demonstrated drive to apply technical knowledge to developing drug delivery systems and formulations
In depth experience with pharmaceutics support to discovery and early development, particularly in the areas of parenteral and oral delivery
Outstanding written and oral communication skills as well as polished and persuasive client presentation skills
Established track record of significant contributions as an individual technical expert
Established track record of building and leading high performance teams of technical talented scientists producing high quality work
Knowledge of GxP and regulatory standards
