The Garden, home to the smallest suspension bridge in the world, was the first botanical garden in the United States. It was established in 1837, when twenty four acres of land were set aside in the heart of Boston. The Garden is also the setting of Robert McCloskey’s Make Way for Ducklings, winner of the 1942 Caldecott Medal.
